Summary

This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between CT parameters and clinical parameters in 34 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The CT parameters included the extent of emphysema, air trapping, and airway thickening, which were measured using in-house software. The results showed that the CT parameters were correlated with pulmonary function test (PFT) results, body mass index (BMI), the modified Medical Research Council Dyspnea scale (MMRC scale), the six-minute-walk distance (6MWD), and the BODE index. Based on the findings, the commercial product, AVIEW COPD is developed by applying the analysis method used in this study. This software may provide a useful tool for evaluating the severity of COPD components and could potentially be used for clinical decision-making.
