Exploring Innovation and Collaboration: Our Journey Through U.S. Conferences/Exhibitions in 2024

2024 has been an incredible year for Coreline as we strengthened our presence in the U.S. market and deepened our engagement with the global medical community. By participating in various conferences, exhibitions across the United States, we showcased our cutting-edge technologies and collaborated with industry experts to address key challenges in healthcare. Below, we highlight our key activities, insights, and reflections from the year.

Key Conference/Exhibition Highlights

1. Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR)

The 42nd Annual Meeting of the Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR), held in February 2024, offered a unique opportunity to connect with thoracic radiologists in a focused setting. This year’s program covered a diverse range of topics, including lung cancer screening, pulmonary vascular disease, and interventional thoracic imaging. STR’s intimate environment and strategically placed exhibitor booths near session rooms allowed for natural visitor engagement during breaks. Our consistent sponsorship and participation have helped us build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Moving forward, showcasing annual advancements in our products and services remains a priority.

2. American Thoracic Society (ATS)

The ATS International Conference 2024, held in San Diego, California, brought together nearly 14,000 professionals from the respiratory health field. This multidisciplinary event emphasized cutting-edge research in pulmonary disease, critical illness, and sleep disorders. At ATS, Coreline highlighted AVIEW COPD and LCS products, focusing on their ability to provide actionable insights through advanced lung segmentation and vessel analysis. With increasing interest in lung-related research and collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, this conference underscored the importance of engaging pulmonologists and researchers while exploring academic partnerships and cost-effective AI solutions.

3. Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT)

The SCCT Annual Scientific Meeting focused on cardiovascular imaging, with key topics including advancements in photon-counting CT scanners, AI plaque analysis tools, and Medicare reimbursement improvements for coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA). These discussions highlighted the rapid evolution of cardiac imaging technologies. Coreline’s participation provided invaluable opportunities to engage with cardiologists and radiologists, solidifying our position as a leader in AI-powered imaging solutions for cardiothoracic healthcare.

4. North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (NASCI)

NASCI’s Annual Meeting provided an intimate and focused setting to connect directly with cardiac radiologists. Through meaningful interactions during coffee breaks and meals, Coreline demonstrated its AI-powered imaging solutions, including applications in lung nodule analysis, bone mineral density assessments, and epicardial fat quantification. Feedback from attendees emphasized the importance of enhancing workflow integration and usability. These insights will guide the refinement of our products to better serve the needs of medical professionals.

5. GOLD COPD International Conference

The GOLD COPD International Conference centered on advancements in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) diagnosis and management. Coreline engaged with pulmonologists and respiratory therapists, showcasing AVIEW’s 3D rendering capabilities and quantification tools.

This conference was particularly significant as it was hosted by the Temple Lung Center of Temple Health, a key institution that recently purchased and installed Coreline's AVIEW CAC, LCS, and COPD solutions. Many medical professionals from Temple Health visited our booth with great interest and enthusiasm, reflecting their excitement and expectations for the new technologies. The strong engagement from Temple’s experts made this event even more meaningful for Coreline.

Reflections: What We Learned in 2024

Throughout the year, our participation in these conferences revealed significant trends and challenges in the adoption and integration of AI in healthcare. A key observation is the shift in perception of AI from a potential replacement for human roles to an indispensable tool for addressing workforce shortages, clinician burnout, and growing imaging demands. However, several barriers to broader AI adoption remain:

  1. Trust in Real-World Performance
    • Real-world clinical data is essential for validating AI performance and building trust among users.
    • Coreline continues to invest in enhancing AVIEW’s performance using diverse, real-world datasets.
  2. Demonstrating ROI
    • Decision-makers require evidence of cost savings and revenue growth to justify AI adoption.
    • Our strategy emphasizes the tangible benefits of AVIEW, such as reducing costs through time efficiency and increasing revenue through incidental findings.
  3. Optimizing Human-AI Collaboration
    • AI should augment, not replace, human expertise as Augmented Intelligence.
    • Developing intuitive UI/UX and ensuring seamless workflow integration are priorities for Coreline.
  4. Lifecycle Support for AI
    • Beyond deployment, AI solutions require continuous feedback, updates, and maintenance.
    • Coreline is evolving into a platform provider, offering comprehensive lifecycle support for hospitals.

Conclusion: Advancing Together into the Future

2024 has been a year of growth, innovation, and collaboration for Coreline. Our participation in key conferences and exhibitions has not only strengthened our presence in the U.S. market but also allowed us to engage deeply with the global medical community. The insights and connections gained through these events are invaluable as we continue to refine our solutions and address the challenges of integrating AI into healthcare.

As we look ahead, Coreline remains committed to expanding innovation, fostering meaningful partnerships, and driving advancements in healthcare through our AI-powered technologies. By staying focused on empowering healthcare professionals and enhancing patient care, we aim to contribute to a future where technology and human expertise work hand in hand to achieve greater outcomes.
